The Bark Shoppe requires an appointment scheduled 24 hours in advance for all services. All grooming and bathing appointments require a 50% deposit for booking. If there is no deposit made when booking the appointment, the appointment will be cancelled.
Clients who try to book an appointment less than 24 hours in advance will be added to the waitlist. Our waitlist does not guarantee a same day appointment.
If we are able to accommodate, walk-ins are welcomed daily until 2 PM for grooming services. There is a same day fee applied to all services.
The Bark Shoppe requires that all pet parents are reachable by phone during the time of their service so any questions or necessary changes can be communicated. If a change in service needs to be made, The Bark Shoppe will wait no more than 15 minutes to receive a return call from the client before making the decision about what service changes will be implemented or avoided (at cost of the client).
PICK UP TIMES
The Bark Shoppe will contact the owner approximately 15 minutes prior to established pick up time, and the owner has an additional 30 minutes from the initial 15 minute call to pick up pets. Uncollected pets will be charged a sitting fee (Daycare) of $10 per 30 min after the pet has not been picked up. All pets not collected by 6pm will be charged an automatic boarding fee of $55 and must be picked up the next business day before 12pm as a full daycare fee will be applied.
Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance for a full refund. We do not accept same day rescheduling. Rescheduling an appointment on the same day will be deemed a cancellation and you will receive a 50% refund. We do not accept same day cancellations, all appointments not canceled 24 hours in advance will receive a 50% refund. The Bark Shoppe has a 15 minute grace period for all scheduled appointments a $15 late fee will be applied to your service after 15 minutes. **Additional fees apply for specialty breeds. All prices are subject to change and sales tax.**
Safety comes first for everyone during the grooming process for both our groomers and your pet. Please inform us prior to grooming if your pet has bitten someone or has past aggression issues. We are able to handle difficult pets, but only if we are aware and prepared. We will set up a schedule and work with them and their behavior to the best of our ability but we will not push any animals. If a dog is so traumatized or stressed about the grooming process, we will stop the service and recommend you speak with your veterinarian about medication to help calm your pet so he can be groomed safely. You will only be charged for the amount of work accomplished to that point.
Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems. As they have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress.To reduce the risk of any injury, our groomers will not groom dogs who are older than 12 years old. For senior dogs under 12 years old,we reserve the right to stop the grooming process at any time if we feel it is in the best interest of the dog. We will use extra care and patience for older pets; however, we will not be held responsible for any reaction due to the mental or physical stress of grooming the geriatric pet.
Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, revealing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of hair to re-grow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes.
It is our policy to de-mat a dog's coat only once in order to make the pet comfortable and to start re-building the coat. De-matting can be painful for your dog and is unpleasant for both dog and groomer alike. After the de-matting process you should be able to maintain the dog’s coat between grooming appointments. The Bark Shoppe reserves the right to refuse grooming if your dog becomes heavily matted again after the initial de-matting. De-matting carries an additional charge that might not be found until the beginning of grooming, but we will notify the owner of the need to dematte and the charge immediately before commencing the service. Those pets with such heavy matting will have to then be shaved. We will not attempt to save the coat after this initial de-matting.
Payments will be made per price list or quote established by Bark Shoppe team member , owners must collect pet(s) at the time stated by Bark Shoppe team member. All vaccinations must be currentand up-to-date. We require the following vaccinations:
Dogs : Rabies, Da2pp or DH2PP and Bordetella
Cats: Rabies and FVRCP
Please confirm all of our pets vaccinations are up to date by calling or emailing the store at least 24 hours prior to booking your appointment.
If you are a first time visitor, or haven't visited the store within a year, you must email your vaccination records to us at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee and your 50% deposit will not be refunded.
If you arrive at our facility without up to date vaccinations, you will have the option to reschedule up to 2 week with a $20 inconvenience fee, or it will be considered a cancellation and your 50% deposit is non refundable.
